Un escriba aceptable... A proper scribe...

  • ¿A quiénes has pescado para Jesús?

No seas cochino...

(Prov 10:21)

“like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”"  Mat 13:52

The scribes managed the Scriptures. They knew them better than most do today. But Jesus put them in the same bag with the Pharisees. And He didn't have much good to say about them.

After teaching His disciples seven difficult parables, the Lord asks, "Have you understood?" (Mat 13:51) Then follows his exhortation in Mat 13:52.

A proper scribe has a treasure which is Christ. He does not have it merely to keep for himself. Someone duly instructed in the kingdom of God shares.

A proper scribe tries to manage his treasure wisely. He brings out old things and new things  based on the question asked or the actual need of the one who is asking.

Are you a proper scribe? To you and to all of us has been given a sphere of responsibility, an opportunity such as no one else has, with the people that God has placed in our lives. We can talk (and write) all day about principles and doctrines while we continue to avoid the root of the matter:
  • What do you do here?
  • In what specific ways do you edify your church?
  • Who have you fished for Jesus?
  • What is your plan for reaching those who are still not in this Way?

Don't be a pig...

You study until you are full and you still have no disciple? Far from acceptable, your conduct is reprehensible. What you have received is not meant to make you fat…  it is meant to make you share.

“The lips of the righteous feed many...” (Pr 10:21)
