Pero Dios... But God...

(Jn 16:33)

Aneurysms, earthquakes, accidents, crazies with guns, religious crazies with guns… yes, life is dangerous and unpredictable.

Even so, Jesus said, “take heart; I have overcome the world.” (Joh 16:33). It would not appear so. Was he crazy, too? No. What He prepared for us transcends this world and lasts longer.

Come what may, we can always rely on the great promise of those two words: BUT GOD.

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,"  (Eph 2:4-6)

Look at the past tense verbs (specifically, actions accomplished in the past) in this short passage: loved us... made us alive… saved us… raised us… made us sit. Everything we need in life, in death and in eternity is already available.

"Us" includes you if you responded to the call of Jesus: if you recognized yourself as a sinner and gave your heart to him. If so, rest in his promise. Think more about what awaits you than what surrounds you.

“take heart; I have overcome the world.” (Joh 16:33)
