Los lunes… Mondays…

(1Tes 5:11)

What we take with us from Sundays with our congregation should encourage us to face the new week. Each Sunday is different, but I never go away empty-handed. God gives me what I need to make it to the next weekend.

Sometimes it is...

...a healthy reminder. If we have grown in the Lord, we become aware of how much those around us need the Lord Jesus Christ. A life without Christ at its center is not life. With renewed determination, I desire to live the Gospel and testify to those who still have not been born again.

...a moment of admiration. Seeing anyone present and smiling who has suffered with grave health problems inspires and instructs me. Even when we do not appreciate what it cost someone just to be with us for a while, their effort is an expression of love that does not go unnoticed by our God.

...a source of profound joy. I enjoy teaching and preaching (particularly in Spanish). But sometimes, the joy of preaching is exceeded by the joy of listening. Partly, it is about the healthy content and spirit of the message. Mostly, it is about the reality of a disciple who now also enjoys preparing well and delivering a good Bible message.  Pleasant fruit! A gift of grace!

...a dose of regret. Look how many blessings I received! However, the big question is, how many did I give? It is important that everyone present in your church on Sunday take away what they need to make it to the next Sunday... just like you.

"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing."  (1 Thes 5:11)

Yes...! As of July 5, 2020, my book is now available on Amazon.com.
It's a new book about an old problem: the cross and the crown… the Gospel and politics… do they mix? Should they mix?
If my words generate some reflection and healthy conversation—as in more light and less heat—I will be satisfied.
