¿Con o sin Cristo?  With or without Christ?

¿Me ayudará?

“without Christ, … having no hope, and without God in the world:” (Eph 2:12)

According to some fashionable teachers, you would conclude that hardly anyone is condemned... that nearly all are with God.

What a contrast! The Bible speaks of wide roads and the narrow way; of many called and few chosen; of children of God and children of the Devil; of a resurrection of life and a resurrection of condemnation.

The Bible does not obscure the message: "without Christ" means "without hope and without God."

Only the Hopeless love God.
- Jennifer Donnelly, Revolution

That sounds like: only those that couldn't make their own way, were overcome by circumstances or have run out of options... these are the ones that turn to God… an act of desperation. Who knows if he exists? Even if he does, will he care? Will he help me?

But it might just be true: only those who understand their situation to be truly hopeless will turn to God in the only way that pleases Him… with brokenness, submission and repentance. Through the sacrifice of His Son, He offers us forgiveness, a new life and assurance of eternity with Him.

It’s right there in front of us… there for the asking. But many keep trying to make their own way, impose their own will, or be good enough to earn God’s favor. They walk blindly past the door to heaven as they meander on down that wide road that leads to… you know where.

Today: remember where you came from. Make a space in your heart for those that are still without hope. Be like Paul quoting part of Psalm 116:10 of the Septuagint: "I believed, and therefore have I spoken."
